The Ultimate Care Routine For Eyelashes And Eyebrows

Eyebrows and Eyelashes care routine :

One of the first things that people notice when they look at your face is your eyes . A wise person once said that eyes are like windows to the soul. Hence, taking care of your eyes is essential.

Your eyebrows and eyelashes are the two most important features that define your eyes. Badly-shaped eyebrows and unkempt eyelashes can destroy your entire appearance.

But how do you ensure your lashes and brows stay healthy? In this blog, we will help you develop a timely eyelash and eyebrow care routine, so you give them the same lavish attention as they deserve.

Let’s get started!

The Effects of Makeup on Eyebrows and Lashes
We all love fully grown lashes and perfectly shaped brows, don't we? However, many of us struggle to achieve them. While many factors like stress, eczema, and hair removal can harm our la shes and brows, excessive use of makeup remains the number one reason behind poor lash and brow growth.

A commonly used eye makeup product is eyeliner . It is used to highlight the appearance of our eyes and even give them a whole new shape! Eyeliners come in many colors, textures, and formulas.

Most eyeliners contain certain harmful ingredients, like Carbon Black. There is a high possibility that you might be allergic to them, especially if you are already allergic to dust or air particles.

Brow gels, tints, pomades, and pencils can have a similar effect on your eyebrows. These products can contain lead that is highly toxic and can cause hair loss. If you feel like your lashes or brows are thinning out, wearing certain makeup products might be the reason.

Not removing makeup thoroughly can also cause lash and brow damage. Mascaras are known to stiffen your eyelashes, and if you don't remove it, you might suffer from severe lash breakage. Certain eye makeup products can also cause flakiness around the eye area. Fake lashes that usually need glue for application are famous for causing itchiness and irritation.

An essential step in eyelash care is to know how to clean them before each application. [1]

Lash Extensions and Microblading

Lash extension is a procedure where false, mink eyelashes are placed on your real lashes. The lash extension procedure has specific side effects.

The glue used to apply the extensions contains harmful ingredients like latex and benzoic acid that can cause your eyes to burn, itch, swell up, and even become red. It can also cause your natural eyelashes to thin or break out.

Microblading is another cosmetic procedure for people who have very thin, unfilled brows. It is like permanent brow makeup. An esthetician uses a blade-like needle to tattoo your brow semi permanently, so you don't have to fill them in with makeup products too often. Prolonged redness, swelling, itching, skin infections, [2] and crusting are popular side effects of the process. Since the process pierces the barrier of the skin, there is a high chance of long-term risks [3] , such as thin hair growth.

Establishing an Eyelash and Eyebrow Care Routine

If you wear makeup or have undergone cosmetic procedures, you must focus on eyebrow and eyelash care. Following are some ways in which you can look after your brows and lashes:

  • Provide nourishment to your lashes and brows. Applying serums that boost hair growth can help. Serums that contain vitamins E(tocopherol), B5, Tripeptide and amino acids can strengthen and lengthen your lashes and brows.
  • Do not pluck out your eyelashes. If they feel clumpy, use a gentle makeup remover on a cotton pad and remove any residue.
  • When shaping eyebrows, always do it with a fresh pair of clean tweezers right after you finish showering since your skin pores will be more softened, and the process will hurt less.
  • Remove makeup thoroughly every night. If you feel like your cleanser doesn't do the job, try the double cleansing method to eliminate the residue.
  • Give your eyes a break from makeup. If you are used to wearing makeup every day, try to use beneficial makeup that prevent the thinning of hair and hair loss while providing your eyelashes and brows with the essential element like Provitamin B5 and Silk.

Conclusion

Your eyes are a very delicate part of your body and can be easily infected with any harmful product. Please pay close attention to the ingredients in the products you apply to your eyes and ensure they don’t cause more harm than good.

Right eyelash and eyebrow care is not expensive; neither does it take a lot of time and effort. All you need to do is develop healthy habits and follow your eyebrow care routine religiously.
